(Lu 1:70; Ac 3:18-21) Although the etymology of the Hebrew term for a prophet (na·vi’′) is uncertain, the use of this distinctive term shows that true prophets were no ordinary announcers but were spokesmen for God, ‘men of God’ with inspired messages.
