What major changes would be incorporated in the long-awaited tourism policy?
Punjab is all set to get its first ever tourism policy. Earlier, the tourism policy was drafted during the Beant Singh (former CM of Punjab) government. But, that was just a drafted policy which was not approved by the government. Five years have passed and the previous government has not done anything. At present, the government is certainly determined to give a big push to tourism, which had been ignored for many years. A blue print of the new tourism policy has been prepared and after getting comments from the industry, it would be released. So, we will keep the policy as our main base and will do necessary amendments, if required. Keeping in mind the present time and new generation, we will incorporate some changes in the policy and will bring it before the cabinet.
