What major changes are foreseen in the teaching program?
In October 2001, Dr. Darrel Robbins assumed the role of Program Director following the promotion of Dr. Aileen Dillon to Institutional Director of Graduate Medical Education for Northern California Kaiser Permanente. Dr. Dillon, who has provided excellent leadership as Program Director since 1989, will assist Dr. Robbins through the end of this academic year to facilitate a smooth transition and will continue as Director of Graduate Medical Education at the San Francisco Medical Center. Each year we try to enhance the content of the program based on feedback from residents and faculty. Over the past two years, we have defined goals and objectives for each year of training in the hospital rotations and developed a lecture series for the internship year and for the ICU/CCU rotations. The General Medicine Consult Service is now a stand-alone rotation. There are regularly scheduled didactic small group teaching sessions three times per week.
