What maintenance processes are required with an Air Source Heat Pumps?
Most Air Source Heat Pumps including the Ecodan are packaged which means they come as a factory sealed unit (similar to the domestic fridge). As a selling point most manufacturers and installers state that they do not require a maintenance or service. We believe that to achieve or even prolong the expected 20 year lifespan a routine annual service or preventative maintenance should be completed annually, especially as the system gets older. We recommend this is completed by a fully qualified Air Source Heat Pump Engineer who can monitor the refrigeration operating parameters and spot a potential (and potentially expensive) problem before it occurs.
