What maintenance is required to keep my air purifier performing at peak efficiency?
The maintenance schedule varies depending on the unit selected and the concentration of contaminants in the air. For Austin, AllerAir and IQAir air purifiers: • Pre-Filters – can either be vacuumed occasionally or changed every 3 to 4 four months. IQAir pre-filters should be replaced every 6 to 18 months. • HEPA Filters – should generally be changed every 2 to 5 years. • Activated Carbon – is usually replaced every 2 to 5 years (or 1 to 3 years for IQAir models). • UV Lamps – if applicable, should be changed every year. All Blueair air purifiers require replacement of applicable filters once every 6 months (and purchased from an authorized Blueair dealer) for the warranty to be valid.
