What made ronald reagan a good president?
Nothing, he was a terrible President. He tripled the National Debt, Created Osama Bin Laden (supplied him with weapons) , fired the air traffic controllers, star wars, declared ketchup a vegetable for the children’s lunch program, robbed the Social Security trust fund, and then there is the Iran Contra scandal. He also did the last amnesty bill to let in millions of illegal aliens.
The fact that he was a leader first. A politician second. You didn’t have to agree with him. You did have to respect him. He took stands. He made decisions. I remember when he referred to the Iranian terrorists who held our embassy hostage as, “a bunch of animals” and he was going to treat them as such. This was when he was running for president! He meant it. They were released just before he took office. You did not screw with this man. If, he couldn’t have Iranian/Soviet/Chinese/Libyan/ or whomever’s respect, he’d settle for their fear of retaliation. He stood his ground.
