What made Mr. Joyner decide to sell Reach Media to Radio One?
NF: “This was an opportunity for two like-minded companies to work together to achieve our goals. Tom has always said that he wants to reach African-Americans in all forms of media, and this deal with Radio One allows Tom to get there much quicker.” KW: How will this affect The Tom Joyner Morning Show? NF: “At this point, there will be no changes in the show. Radio One has said that they like the way we do business… And that’s why they were attracted to us.” KW: Are you worried about losing artistic control of the show? NF: “That’s not an issue.” KW: Are any on-air staff changes likely? An overhaul of content? NF: “No.” KW: Why will the show no longer be heard on the WDAS affiliate in Philly? Will you be leaving that market entirely? NF: “We are in the midst of finalizing details on our next move.
