What made Christian singer Ray Boltz come out of the closet?
After 30 years of struggling to be straight, he finally just couldn’t hide it anymore. He was incredibly depressed to the point that one of his kids mentioned that she was afraid to go into his bedroom because she was afraid she’d find he’d committed suicide. One day when talking with his family about his depression, he finally told them that he’d known he was gay since he was a child and had been trying to deny it. He finally admitted that it wasn’t something he could change. After coming out to his family in 2004, the news didn’t get out to the general public for several more years.
