What looks good on a college application?

as far as sports/ activities go, colleges honestly do not care what you do- they just like to see you interested and committed to something outside of school. It can be anything from painting to swim team or whatever. On my application, I wrote about how I spend time doing photography. Of course, it helps to have more than one activity listed (I had about 4 or 5) but that doesn’t mean you need to do be a part of EVERY single club at your school. You don’t want to spread yourself so thin. Colleges like seeing “leadership skills” so if you can hold an office in a school club, that is great and will help a lot. Community service also looks good. Just make sure schoolwork always comes first, as your extracurriculars will mean nothing if you have bad grades. And find an activity you are passionate about, and colleges will appreciate seeing that in you.
