What line-of-sight guidelines exist with respect to airports?

NavCan has line-of-sight guidelines (see link below) which establish set-back requirements for adjacent developments. Assuming a maximum tower height of 60 metres, these guidelines require a 1.5 mile (2.41 km) set-back. This set-back was used for the Heartland project during the development of preliminary routing for consultation. Additional consultation will occur with individual airports as the project evolves. http://www.navcanada.ca/ContentDefinitionFiles/Services/LandUseProgram/FormsReference/Line_of_Sight_Requirements_EN.
