What level of involvement will Datatel staff have in these forums?
Datatel staff have typically not been involved much in existing talk lists and info-datatel. Datatel staff do have access to and read many of the posts on those lists. Some have replied to threads occasionaly. With the forums, all Datatel staff are encouraged to participate in the forums if they find they can be helpful. This may increase Datatel’s involvement compared to the e-mail lists. Datatel Product Managers will use this tool as they have used the talk lists as another input into understanding issues and hot topics in their various communities. With this tool, some new capabilities like polling are very easy and may be employed more. A product manager may also respond to a forum post to clarify Datatel’s stance on a topic. These responses will stay out there and can be found by other people searching on that topic.
