What level of hardness is reached on subjecting the material to the CRYOBEST® process?

0

This is not a treatment to increase the hardness of the material. In the case of steel, if the hardness needs to be increased, a quenching process will need to be performed. The multi-stage cryogenic treatment does not significantly modify the hardness of the material. In certain cases, such as the steel grades which after quenching contain a lot of remaining austenite, there may be a slight increase in the hardness as a result of the transformation of part of that austenite into martensite. What is often observed is that, after performing the CRYOBEST® process, the hardness of the material is more homogeneous.
