What level of consciousness do animals have, do they have emotions like us….?
It varies from species to species, but there are several theories on what animals experience, and I think a couple of them make sense. Emotions appear to be experienced by some animals, as they display behaviors consistent with certain emotions, like fear, anger or affection. Some scientists theorize that emotions serve as a form of communication between different species. For example, even though a can can’t speak any human language, it can communicate that it feels fearful and is prepared to strike by arching its back, puffing its hair and hissing. As for consciousness, some theories suggest there is more than one level of consciousness, so animals experience consciousness on one level and humans experience consciousness on another level. For example, most animals have a present awareness, which means that they perceive certain stimuli and can react to it, such as a lion who smells an antelope and then attacks.
