What lessons were learned from the adaptation process?
• Involve young people from the start • Adaptation is a good starting point, but what is adapted is also important • Pre-testing is important, especially with different groups of young people (rural/urban, education levels, language skills, etc.) and the feedback, as much as possible should be accommodated • Having a “development committee” is important, and should be lead by government, with technical assistance from UNICEF or a sub-contract. All other partners working in the area should be involved as well… but make sure they are involved in more than just meeting and discussing and reviewing “drafts”.
