NORTH LITTLE ROCK — North Little Rock and Texas police officers and FBI agents arrested a suspect today in a 19-year-old attempted murder case. Dennis Earl Bradford, 40, was arrested this morning in North Little Rock in the 1990 kidnapping, rape and attempted murder of then 8-year-old Jennifer Schuett, who was left in a field with her throat slit near her home in Dickinson, Texas. Schuett’s case drew national attention when the television show America’s Most Wanted profiled the attack Oct. 3. The FBI said today DNA evidence gathered in 1990 was reexamined 18 months ago, and the profile compiled then matched Bradford’s profile in the FBI’s Combined DNA Index System, or CODIS, database. “We do not have any evidence at this time that connects him to any other crimes,” FBI Special Agent Shauna Dunlap said in a telephone interview from her office in Houston.
