Networks of all kinds have grown organically within CI both with Headquarters direction (Network of Communicators and Educators and Network of Indigenous and Traditional Peoples) and in Regional Programs (Network of Conservation Partners in Brazil and in Indonesia). The objective of the ILI is to integrate and guide these developments rather than having a central control over the process. Initially, RPD will focus on strengthening the connections of global learning networks on: Key Biodiversity Areas Conservation; Conservation Corridors; Outcomes Monitoring; Conservation Stewards; Tourism; Conservation Finance. In February 2007, RPD conducted a survey with Regional Programs to inquire about the strategic areas of knowledge.
