What languages are spoken there?
English is the most widely spoken language. English based Belize Creole is the official language of the country. Spanish is widely spoken in the Orange Walk and Cayo districts. Two dialects of Maya, the indigenous people of Belize, are spoken in small villages throughout the country. The Mennonites, a large Christian fundamentalist sect speak German. Many Belizeans came from India, China, Taiwan and Labanon . Each of these groups still speak their native languages as well as English and Belize Creole. Belize is a land of many languages.
