The Spanish is very spoke in the border with Spain and also the Catalan in the border with Andorra

Other languages, such as Portuguese, Italian, Arabic and several Berber languages are spoken by French immigrants. Hope this helps!

There is a very obscure language called Brennon, spoken in Nothern France, in the Normandy area. It’s supposedly French with so much Gaelis influence it’s halfway in between.

Thanks for asking. I learnt something myself today. Not surprisingly, since France shares a border with Germany, a third language spoken in France is German or Germanic dialects prevalent along the alsace-lorraine border region. I have always known that knowledge of Spanish is common since France shares a border with Spain, but I didn’t know it is only ranked 8th. Seems like Arabic is more common. Maybe due to migrants…
