The official language is Portuguese, but some Japanese and European descendants such as Italians, Germans, Spaniards, French, Ukrainians, Polish, Russians, Lithuanians, Scandinavians, Hungarians, Romanians and even British and Irish descendants may speak their ancestors language. Recent immigrants from Hispanic countries speak American Spanish. Other recent immigrants from Asia such as Chinese and Koreans weren’t quite assimilated to the Lusophone atmosphere. Brazil has 12 million Arab descendants and recent Arab immigrants, most of them are Christians or Irreligion people from Lebanon and Syria but the number of Muslins is also increasing. That means Arab is possible to be heard on the streets of the largest metropolises just like Chinese, Korean and other East Asian and South Asian languages. Indigenous languages are also spoken by the Pre-colombian, Native American minority in isolated areas.
