What land is eligible for woodland creation?
Grants are available for planting improved land, bracken land and acid grassland. Forestry Commission Wales has developed Woodland Opportunities maps which identify which areas of Wales are most suitable for new woodland, areas where some consultation with other bodies may be required due to site based constraints and areas where it has been agreed that new woodland is not appropriate such as land of high environmental value. These maps will be made available on FCW website.
