What land did the US receive from the Mexican Cession?
The U.S. received present day California, Nevada, Utah, most of Arizona, half of New Mexico, part of Colorado, and a small portion of Wyoming. The U.S. recieved this land after the Mexican-American War. The U.S. was formally given the right to this land in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the Mexican-American War.
