What lake and buffer strip uses are being planned?
The lake and buffer strip are owned and controlled by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), under strict regulations and conditions of permits for their recreational use. We have proposed a number of club uses acceptable to the DNR. These are outlined in a letter from DNR at www.thousandacresgolf.com/permits. The uses of the lake and buffer strip are not commercial and are strictly limited to the use of club members and guests. There will be no rental boats originating from the Club. The entire 3000’ +/- of shoreline at the club site will be owned by the Home Owners Association. The HOA will apply for the appropriate permits to provide for the following services and facilities: overnight docking for HOA members only, swim area, small boat launching and retrieval, including canoes and kayaks, picnic areas, and walking trails.
