Q: i was told conserves, and milk should be brand name… what kinds of things can i buy supermarket brand to save cash? A: As long as you can see what’s in these things and they are made from good stuff…don’t worry. There are large manufacturers who make these products then sell them to different companies who brand them with their own packaging. I buy Tesco or Asda own brand milk. It’s just as good. Obviously, there are some things that you would only buy with a brand name because you love the taste or the quality, but supermarkets’ own brands are really good these days. It’s not like it used to be. The value items are less appealing and will be made to a lesser standard and more cheaply. It depends if you have the cash to splash. Keep an eye on the ingredients if you’re worried. Also, if you google items….even supermarket’s own brands….there are sites that will allow users to review them. On the whole, I wouldn’t worry. Don’t believe everything people tell you….you can judge
