What kinds of systems can Mimic test?
Generally, any system that meets the following criteria: • It communicates with other systems, devices or software programs using binary-formatted messages (as opposed to text-based messages many common commercial protocols use, such as HTTP) • These binary-formatted messages are transmitted using one of the four following protocols • TCP • UDP • Serial Port (otherwise known as COM Port or RS-232) • MIL-STD-1553 (used commonly in military avionics and electronic warfare systems) • Others possible in the future (such as ARINC-429, DeviceNet, CAN, etc.) Generally, “Embedded Systems” are good candidates to test with Mimic.
