“Hey, my name’s Brian Medeiros. I’m a saxophonist. And I’m going to explain some of the different kinds of saxophones. This is an alto saxophone, maybe one of the most popular saxophones. Tenor saxophone being the second and probably equally as popular saxophone. It’s a little bit bigger than this. It’s keyed into B flat and it plays a little bit deeper of a sound. The size of a saxophone determines how low it can go, because the longer the instrument, the lower the notes you have to play. This alto saxophone is keyed in E flat. And it’s my personal favorite voice. There’s also a soprano saxophone, which a lot of times is just a straight horn about the size of just this section of the saxophone here. Sometimes they’re curved and they’re very small. There’s also a baritone saxophone, which is really big and it’s used in mostly orchestra, some jazz bands.
