What kinds of research methods does CIS use?
CIS specializes in primary research. This means that we have expertise in conducting in-depth interviews with executives and others who may be helpful in our research assignments. Such others might include experts in the field, trade press writers, consultants, customers, etc. All interviewing features full-disclosure and cautions to respondents against revealing confidential and/or trade secret information. CIS also conducts comprehensive secondary research for most projects, usually in advance of primary research. Note that our secondary research efforts often uncover materials that our clients have failed to find in their own research efforts. Secondary research involves use of publicly available materials, such as databases, library and archival materials, Freedom of Information Act documents, etc.
