What kinds of programs/activities/lectures can be approved for contact hours?

The field is wide open. The only criteria are that the intent of the program/activity/lecture will enrich a nurse’s contribution to quality health care and/or the pursuit of professional career goals. It is to assist the nurse in acquiring, maintaining, or increasing her/his level of competence in fulfilling her/his assigned responsibilities specific to the expectations of the MTF/TOE/unit. We are not a civilian institution so many of our programs are military-specific as well as nursing related. Examples are DEPMEDS, Bioterrorism, and Deployment Activities/Preparation.
