What kinds of phones are there?
The FWTS contract presently provides two varieties of cellular phones: car phones, and hand-held portable units. The portable (hand-held) cellular telephone is a completely self-contained unit with its own rechargeable battery. A portable cellular phone, although lower in power than a car phone, is growing in popularity because it can be carried in a briefcase or purse, allowing users to place and receive calls at all times when traveling within a cellular coverage area.
