What kinds of meat do Muslims not eat and why?
From what I know, Muslims don’t eat pork and any kind of birds of prey like the vulture or crow. The reason is back in the days people used to die from eating pork because of the tape worm that infested pigs, which we all know to be a very dirty animal. Even though the risk is minimal nowadays the rule still holds. As for the birds of prey they will eat dead animals and the like and it is forbidden for Muslims to eat their meat because it is termed ‘haram’. However, in the case a Muslim is faced with the choice of death or eating any of the above mentioned meat, he/she must eat to stay alive because to commit suicide is also forbiding.
