What kinds of materials are used in submarines today?

I don’t know of any websites off top of my head but, if you are talking about military submarines being built today, the US and China may be the only countries actively building new subs. Military subs use lots of advanced materials because small improvements in material properties can provide big advantages in the performance. The subs hulls are made of high strength alloys, probably high strength steels or high strength Ti alloys (how deep the sub can dive is determined by how much pressure the hull can support before it gets crushed like a soda can). The Ti alloys are an advantage because they do not create a magnetic field that can be detected. The hulls are probably coated with rubber so sounds from inside the sub are muffled (subs “see” by listening very very carefully). Nuclear subs have nuclear reactors so there are lots of advanced materials required there. Subs run on electric motors so there will be lots of copper wiring. Even though they run underwater, there are advantages
