What kinds of grants receive priority funding?
The faculty advisory board is currently giving priority to projects that benefit public activities on campus, graduate students’ research needs, junior faculty, and applicants who have never received money from the Center. Faculty members who’ve recently received Center funding for individual research grants have low priority, and so are unlikely to receive support in lean budget cycles. In general, faculty should wait at least three years after receiving support to apply again. Faculty members with startup funds are not eligible for Humanities Center grants for individual research. For new faculty, startup funds usually are given for a three year period. New faculty are eligible to apply for collaborative grants for public events on campus. Graduate students applying for individual research grants will be funded to a maximum of $1500 for dissertation research. Graduate students must be advanced to candidacy in order to apply for individual research grants.
