I believe I’ve read that celery burns more calories than it contributes, once you take into account the calories required to chew it. But Cucumbers are mostly water and very low also. Cucumbers also have detoxifying properties. With fruits (and veggies and other carbs) it’s not so much the calories you need to worry about, but rather the glycemic index (natural sugars and resulting insulin level). For fruits, most berries have a lower GI and are very high in nutrients (blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries). Grapes, cherries and citrus fruits are low calorie, but high in natural sugars that will leave your blood sugar rebounding and you wanting more food.
