What kinds of footings are required under posts?
A concrete footing, six (6) inches thick minimum is required under the posts. For decks only, a concrete footing, eight (8) inches thick minimum is required under the posts. Pre-cast concrete blocks are allowed. All sack-type concrete must be properly wet-mixed, placed, and set prior to placing posts in holes. A footing inspection is required prior to placing concrete or footings.
