I should know because I get them more often than I would like to, and with a family of medical doctors I know that some Foods and Drinks trigger this awful problem: -Alcoholic drinks, any of them. Most Specially: Red wine, beer, whiskey, and champagne are the most commonly identified headache triggers. -Aged Cheese and any food containing ‘Tyramine’. -Processed Meats (salami, bologna, ham, etc, etc, etc: All of them). -Food Additives, ‘specially nitrates’, which dilate blood vessels. -‘Cold Foods’, which they should be at room temperature ‘Before’ consuming it. And, yes, icecream included… sorry! -Some Fresh Fruits: Including ripe bananas, citrus fruits, papaya, red plums, raspberries, kiwi, and pineapple. -Peanuts and all peanut butters. -Soups made from meat extracts or bouillon (not homemade broth). -Cultured dairy products, sour cream, buttermilk, yogurt. -Caffeine found in chocolate and cocoa; beverages such as coffee, tea and colas; also found in certain medications. -Aspartame
