Child support payments go into the general pool of funds available to pay family expenses, not just expenses specific to the children. The payor is not entitled to an accounting of the use of the funds and will rarely be heard to complain that he or she is paying too much, except in high income cases where strict application of the guidelines suggests extraordinarily high monthly payments.
