What kinds of considerations are there when switching from diesel to biodiesel?
If you bought a newer (2000 and younger) vehicle and begin using biodiesel, you can start using biodiesel with few worries (see number 1 below). If you have an older vehicle, you need to consider the following: 1. Your fuel filter. Keep an extra one in the vehicle when you begin burning biodiesel. Biodiesel will clean out all the carbon deposits in your engine, which is great for your engine but not good for your fuel filter. This problem obviously goes away with time. You may clog your fuel filter initially and have to change it out with the new one. 2. Check for sediments and water in your fuel tank before using biodiesel.
