What kinds of Charcoal does Faber-Castell offer?
Charcoal is one of the oldest drawing materials known to mankind. Faber-Castell produces two types of charcoal: Natural charcoal made by carbonizing resin-free twigs under exclusion of air. It leaves a bluish mark which is easily wiped and corrected. Natural charcoal pencils are available in soft, medium and hard. Compressed charcoal, produced from soot and clay. This is the blackest drawing material that can be produced. Compressed charcoal sticks are available in extra soft, soft and medium.
