If you are registered with the DHHR as an Independent Provider, meaning you are an individual provider of services with NO employees, you must have a BSW or related four year degree with social work licensure or a master’s degree in social work, counseling or psychology with licensure to do safety services in all service categories and all populations. If you are registered as an Agency Provider, meaning you are an agency or company employing others to provide services, then the following changes have been made. As of February 1, 2008 the staff member providing the Individualized Parenting, Family Crisis Response, and Social/Emotional Support as part of the Safety Service Bundle must have a BSW or related four year degree with social work licensure or a master’s degree in social work, counseling or psychology with licensure.
