What Kinds of Cancer Are Detected From Blood Tests?
There is no specific blood test that will definitively conclude the presence of cancer. However, blood can be analyzed to determine the presence or levels of specific biological or tumor markers, which are proteins or chemicals produced by tumor cells. These blood tests can be useful screening tools for cancers such as prostate cancer, liver cancer, reproductive system cancers and digestive tract cancers, especially when used in conjunction with other diagnostic tests.
