What kinds of assistance has Help the Needy provided in the past?
• Visited with, listened and counseled people that need a friend. This is the most time consuming task, but also the most rewarding to both the client and to us. • Purchased gasoline so that people could drive to work. • Paid utility bills in emergency situations • Paid for car repairs so people could get to work. • Purchased food & clothing in emergency situations. • Arranged medical treatment for people that had no doctor. • Helped pay medical bills and paid for prescriptions for thos that could not buy their own. • Met with local counselors and their clients when invited. • Cut, split and delivered firewood ( approximately 15 cords last year.) • Made minor houshold repairs for neddy people. • Work in in ongoing way with county Dept. of Social Services, and Community cupboard. • Paid rent for families in emergency situations. • Paid travel expenses for families in emergency situations. • Funded Projects for the disabled. • Advocated for the needy with state and county officials. • Pa
