Answer Dear Gurdip, Penguins probably have the largest population of any animal found in Antarctica. There are millions and millions of penguins there, comprising four main species – Adelie, Chinstrap, Emperor and Gentoo. There are a few other penguin species that occasionally turn up on the Antarctic Peninsula – these are called vagrants, as it is not their usual habitat. They are the Macaroni, King and an occasional Rockhopper. There are several other bird species, and there are marine mammals (seals and whales) as well – but there are no land mammals there.
