What kinds of academic advising does WMU provide?
Good and frequent academic advising is critical to a student’s early academic success. National surveys indicate that student persistence in college is directly tied to good advising. Advising begins during summer orientation when professional advisors from each College meet with students to help them chose fall courses based on individual interests. Additional advisor meetings begin with Fall Welcome and continue into the first semester when more in-depth and long-term planning can occur between advisors and students. Meetings with advisors during the entire collegiate experience is critical to staying on track to graduate in four years. For more information, click here.
