3/9/2009 – We’ve been seeing whales just about every day under nice sunny skies with temps in the mid 60’s! On 3/7 we saw 11 whales! Here are our sightings from 3/1 – 3/8: 34 Gray Whales, Large Pods of White-Sided and Common Dolphin, and lots of Sea Lions! Since Nov 27 we have seen 191 Grey Whales, 16 Fin Whales, 8 Killer Whales, 5 Minke Whales, and of course Huge Common Dolphin, Risso Dolphin, and White-Sided Dolphin Pods. Gray Whale season officially started on November 28 (the season runs through April) and we had a fantastic season last year where we saw 375 Gray Whales.
