What kind of trash stinks the worst?
A lot of the worst trash smells come from the bacteria that develop in rotting food. Animal products like dairy and meat are towards the top of the list when it comes to foul odors (think spoiled milk and old poultry). To further draw lines – wet stuff that’s closed in a trash bag rots ‘anaerobically’ and tends to smell even worse when opened (or ripped). Some folks have found that allowing your wet trash to dry out before sealing it in a bag cuts down not only on the rot factor, but the smell factor too.
