What kind of training does a physiotherapist require?

0

In Ontario, physiotherapists require a completed University Degree prior to entering into a physiotherapy program. Upon completion, they hold a Masters in Health Science and have completed 6-7 years of University training. In order to practice physiotherapy, you must be registered with the College of Physiotherapists. This requires completion of a National Exam. A valid membership is also your protection that your therapist is legally allowed to be treating. Make sure you question a practitioner that claims to provide physiotherapy services, but does not meet the above criteria, and — as a result — will not have a registration number. Above this, our specialists continue to participate in programs and seminars to keep up to date with the latest techniques and education.
