What kind of tests do they preform when checking for diabetes?
They do a fasting blood glucose test. Meaning you don’t eat after 10pm and they check your level in the morning prior to eating or drinking anything. Your blood sugar level should be in the normal range at this point. Then they may test it after a meal to see how your body reacts to the food intake. This test also should be in the normal range. If your 2 readings aren’t very close in number then there could be a problem. Other tests may be needed.
