By taxi driver I’m assuming you mean owner driver where you also own the cab/taxi plates rather than just being an employee of the person who owns the cab. As an owner/driver you are able to claim expenses related to running your business just the same as any other self employed person is. Some of those expenses would include cab service costs, fuel, insurance, registration, licence fees, business phone, possibly uniform costs if required and laundry expenses etc. For all claims you must have receipts or be able to show clearly how you arrived at the figure you are claiming by using log books etc. If you are working for the person who owns the cab (e.g. employee) then your expenses will be limited to those of an ordinary employee plus cost of uniform if required and the laundry costs of that uniform.
