What kind of student benefits most from an Internet course?
Internet courses work best for the mature, motivated student who is ready to take the responsibility for learning without reminders from teachers or classmates. If you have difficulty overcoming procrastination, an Internet class may not be right for you. Interaction in an Internet course is seldom face-to-face and most of the work is done independently. Successful Internet students are able to learn by reading. Further they are able to comprehend what they read without a lot of extra explanations. If you learn best by listening or watching a demonstration, an instructor-led class might be a better option. Internet students should be comfortable using a personal computer, surfing the Internet, sending e-mail with attachments, sending/receiving zip files, and downloading/installing plug-ins. If you are interested in taking an Internet class, but need to learn the Internet basics mentioned above, please consider taking NTC’s Introduction to the Internet – an instructor-led class offered
