What kind of specialty medical equipment does LifeFlight carry?
LifeFlight carries virtually all of the specialized critical care equipment that would be found at a patient’s bedside in an ICU. This includes sophisticated transport ventilators; non-invasive blood pressure monitors; invasive hemodynamic and neurological monitors; internal and external cardiac pacers; hands-off defibrillators; multi-channel infusion pumps; pulse oximeters; end-tidal capnographers as well as a comprehensive pharmacy. The aircraft can also be reconfigured to accommodate an intra-aortic balloon pump or a newborn isolette.
