What kind of soil requires the Cathodic Protection System (CPS)?
CPS protection is required if: soil test results indicate the pH is lower than 6.0 (acidic soil) or higher than 11.0 (alkaline soil); the soil has concentrations of acids, chlorides, sulphides, sulphates or ammonia; or the soil is in coastal areas influenced by brackish water marshes, saltwater intrusion or acidic peat bogs.
